The Workforce Housing Overlay will support existing businesses by allowing housing options for employees to live near their jobs. The primary goal is to protect the existing nature and character of the Business Park, while allowing new housing opportunities close to key employment centers, enhancing workforce retention and reducing commute times. Approximately 38 acres are proposed to be designated with the Workforce Housing Overlay.

Implement objective development standards to ensure the project goals are met
Achieve Economic Development Element Goal 1 to “Ensure economic development that maintains and enhances the community’s character,” and Economic Development Goal 2 to “Attract and retain the types of businesses and employment generating uses that are beneficial to the community and maintain the City’s community character.”
