Shortly after turning in my nomination papers for the Rancho Santa Margarita District # 3 City Council election, I became aware that I had signed my nomination paperwork attesting to an inaccurate statement. Because my regrettable error was discovered after the review period it cannot be fixed. I am deeply embarrassed, take full responsibility and apologize for my error. Therefore, I am no longer seeking the Council seat and have suspended my campaign in its entirety. Although I am hopeful that my statement will help to avoid being elected, should I be elected, I will resign my new City Council seat immediately. Because I feel very strongly that those that have generously supported my campaign should not pay for my mistake, I am immediately arranging to return all contributions from my supporters. My error, my responsibility and my decisions have been discussed with the District Attorney through my counsel and no promises have been made to me. To the residents, businesses, Council Colleagues and City Staff of Rancho Santa Margarita, I am very sorry for my irreversible mistake, and I am at the same time very proud of ALL that we accomplished by working together. Thank you for the opportunity to both create and lead this beautiful city.
