The City is hosting a community workshop on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the Bell Tower Regional Community Center for residents to participate in the transition to by-district elections.
The City of Rancho Santa Margarita, like hundreds of cities and school districts across the state, is making a change in how voters elect its City Council. Beginning in 2024, voters will vote for one City Council Member who lives in their district. This will replace the current system of at-large citywide elections, where voters can vote for all five City Council Members
Get involved in the planning process by drawing a map with lines that you feel will best divide the City based on geographical and historical elements and what you consider to be the boundaries of your neighborhood. The City is hosting a community workshop on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the Bell Tower Regional Community Center to assist residents in the map drawing process, as public participation is vital.
Details about attending and participating in public meetings, staff reports, demographer presentations, and other meeting-related materials are available at cityofrsm.org and drawrsm.org.
