Jerry Holloway will serve as Mayor, and Carol Gamble as Mayor Pro Tempore for the 2023 term. City Council members made the 1-year appointments during their annual reorganization on Wednesday.

Each December, the council selects a new mayor and mayor pro tem from among its five members. 

This is Jerry Holloway's fourth mayoral term. He was first elected to the city council in 2002 and was mayor in 2005, 2010, and 2019.

Those with a household income less than $60,000 in 2022 may be eligible to file tax returns for free. Assistance is available by appointment in Rancho Santa Margarita.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to taxpayers who make $60,000 or less, persons with disabilities, and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistance preparing their tax returns.

Complimentary Kitchen Bins Available for RSM Residents

The City has a limited number of complementary small kitchen bins available for pickup at City Hall during regular business hours. The pails are designed to assist residents to minimize landfill waste and are funded by a grant from CalRecycle.
