FlagDayFlyer2023

Residents and guests of all ages are invited to honor the American Flag with the observation and flag retirement ceremony in partnership with American Legion Post 862, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6024 Rifle Honor Squad, and local Scout units.

The Flag Day retirement ceremony will be held Wednesday, June 14, at 7:40 p.m. outside the Bell Tower near Central Park. The ceremony is held to destroy properly – by burning – worn, damaged, or otherwise unserviceable American Flags in a dignified manner in accordance with The United States Flag Code, which reads: As a revered symbol of freedom and justice, the flag of the United States of America needs to be treated with the utmost respect. This respect extends to the flag's eventual retirement and destruction.

Worn or unserviceable flags can be disposed of properly throughout the year in the flag box receptacle located in the lobby of the Bell Tower Regional Community Center.

Call Community Services at (949) 216-9700 for more information.
