241, 133 closures may affect Rancho Santa Margarita commuters this week

07/10/2016 to 07/13/2016

Full Closure
Caltrans will be performing a FULL CLOSURE of the Northbound 133 Connector to Northbound I-5 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. for striping removal on the I-5 Irvine Overhead bridge. The closure will also include the direct northbound I-5 ramp from Barranca Parkway.

DETOUR: Northbound 133 traffic wishing to use the northbound 5 will be directed off at the 133 Barranca Exit, directed right on Pacifica, left on Alton Parkway where they can re-enter the northbound 5. Northbound 133 traffic missing this detour will enter onto the 133 Toll Road and will be able to exit at Irvine Boulevard, turn left over the 133, then left back onto the 133 Toll Road where they can join the northbound I-5.

Full Closure

Caltrans will be performing a daytime FULL CLOSURE of the southbound 5 connector to northbound 133 on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for maintenance.

DETOUR: Southbound 5 traffic wishing to use the northbound 133 will be detoured off at Sand Canyon, then directed left to Irvine Boulevard then right where they can access the northbound 133.

241 Toll Road

Full Closure

Caltrans will be performing FULL CLOSURES of the westbound 91 connector to southbound 241 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. for bridge work.

DETOUR: Westbound 91 traffic wishing to use the southbound 241 will be directed past the closed connector and directed off at Weir Canyon Road, then left on Weir Canyon where they can re-enter the eastbound 91 to access the southbound 241.

Caltrans will be performing alternating lane closures for striping operations on the westbound and eastbound 91 Freeway at the connectors to southbound 241 each night next week from midnight to 4 a.m. One lane will be open to traffic at all times and no delays are expected.
