Christmas trees are considered organic waste, which means they can be composted, mulched, or even converted into fuel. CR&R, the City's waste hauler, offers tree recycling for RSM residents.
Christmas tree collection will begin on December 26, 2022, and continue for two weeks. Place trees less than 6' inside the green organics cart (if you have one). For trees over 6' tall, please cut them in half and place them on the curb on your regular collection day.
Please remove all lights, ornaments, and tinsel to ensure your tree is recyclable. Flocked trees are not compostable.
