Please do not be alarmed if you see several emergency vehicles and first responders at the Bell Tower Regional Community Center tomorrow - THIS IS ONLY A TEST
The Orange County Health Care Agency and Healthcare Sector will test their mass casualty response abilities on Tuesday, May 24th at three separate locations throughout Orange County, including Rancho Santa Margarita’s Bell Tower Regional Community Center. Ambulances will arrive at approximately 8:00 a.m. at the Community Center to pick up volunteer victims who will be triaged and transported to local hospitals. The exercise will test the ability of local ambulance companies and hospitals to transport and treat a large number of patients simultaneously. The volunteer victims will be “moulaged,” which means a professional makeup artist will make the volunteers look as if they have sustained injuries and wounds in order to make the drill as realistic as possible for the EMT’s, paramedics, and hospital staff.
