[ARCHIVED] Santa Margarita Parkway Bridge Hinge Maintenance Project Update

Bridge Hinge Project Graphic 01282021

Removal of traffic control and lane re-striping will occur overnight at a date TBD while the concrete reaches maximum strength.

Removal of traffic controls and re-striping originally scheduled to occur in late January will now take place in approximately two weeks. The concrete has not yet reached its maximum strength and therefore causes an unavoidable delay in the return of traffic flow to its former pre-construction status. While restoration work will take place during night hours to lessen the impact on commuters, traffic delays may occur.  The City will advise motorists of the new date as it becomes available.

Median reconstruction, including replacement of trees and landscaping, will take place after re-striping. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of February 2021.

Please remember, the speed limit in the construction zone is 45 mph.

Thank you for your patience as we conduct infrastructure improvements for the community, and please drive safely.

Any questions can be directed to smpbridge@cityofrsm.org.
