In preparation for our virtual Veterans Day celebration, the City of Rancho Santa Margarita asks for assistance to help us honor members of our community who have served in the armed forces.
Virtual Veterans Day Recognition
For the past five years, the City of Rancho Santa Margarita has had the privilege of hosting veterans and their families at our Annual Veterans Day reception and recognition. Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor all those who served honorably in the military.
While we cannot gather together this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are hosting a special modified recognition to pay tribute to our nation’s troops — past and present — and honor local veterans. The Veterans Day ceremony will be presented online for the community to view at their convenience. The presentation will include a special tribute featuring Squad Leaders from the City’s adopted 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines.
We invite all veterans to participate in this esteemed recognition, and we invite the public to submit entries to honor the men and women of our community for their service.
Please complete a Veterans Information Form and send photos to wredington@cityofrsm.org by Thursday, November 5, 2020.
As a reminder, City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, in observance of the national holiday. The City Council Meeting will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020.
