[ARCHIVED] Rancho Santa Margarita Local Hazard Mitigation Plan earns Award of Excellence

The FEMA approved Rancho Santa Margarita Local Hazard Mitigation Plan has received an Award of Excellence from the American Planning Association.

The American Planning Association Orange Section has awarded the Rancho Santa Margarita Local Hazard Mitigation Plan an Award of Excellence. It is now eligible for consideration at the State level by the APA California Chapter Awards. 

Wendy Starks, AICP, Principal Planner, City of Rancho Santa Margarita, Starla Barker, AICP, DeNovo Planning Group, and Noelle Steele, Michael Baker International are recognized for this outstanding achievement in preparing this comprehensive plan.

The APA Orange Section hosts an annual awards program to recognize and celebrate great planning work throughout Orange County. The program honors innovative plans and projects, distinguished individuals, and other contributions to the planning profession. The awards program nominations are voted on by a panel of experienced judges who are dedicated to highlighting the projects, plans, and people that demonstrate the power of great planning. Award recipients are recognized for their accomplishments and the wonderful work being done in Orange County to create more livable, vibrant, and inclusive communities.
