Applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Student Work Experience Program. Space is limited, so apply early!
Volunteer during your summer break and join City of Rancho Santa Margarita staff for this four-week program. This non-paid volunteer program introduces college students to City functions while cultivating civic engagement and participation. Students will connect with career professionals in various City Departments.
Students will receive an hour-long introductory lesson to a different department each week, followed by three hours of hands-on experience. Student volunteers will be assigned duties and projects throughout the program designed to familiarize them with various professions. The casual working environment provides students with an opportunity to explore careers in local government and gain insight into public service while developing work readiness skills.
At the end of the program, students should have a better understanding of the professional career opportunities that exist in the public sector of municipal government.
