[ARCHIVED] Save the Date for Tip-A-Cop Special Olympics Fundraiser

Special Olympics Logo

Rancho Santa Margarita Police Services will be hosting a Tip-A-Cop event at Wood Ranch BBQ and Grill on Monday, August 14th, 2017 from 5 pm – 9 pm to benefit Special Olympics.

Law Enforcement give a whole new meaning to "protect and serve" at Tip-A-Cop fundraisers. OCSD Deputies serve as celebrity waiters at restaurants, and they donate all the tips they receive to Special Olympics. Tip-A-Cop has been a favorite way for officers to raise money, and the public loves to have the officers wait on them hand and foot.

Special Olympics Southern California enriches the lives of more than 30,700 athletes with intellectual disabilities and their communities in Southern California through sports, education, and athlete health. The 2017 Summer Games took place in June at California State University, Long Beach. The Games attracted more than 1,100 athletes from across Southern California who competed for gold, silver, and bronze medals and ribbons. More than 10,000 individuals attended the Games which featured six summer sports — athletics (track & field), basketball, bocce, golf, gymnastics, and swimming. Special Olympics Southern California provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

We hope you'll join us at Wood Ranch BBQ and Grill on Monday, August 14th!
