New fees take effect Monday, July 10th.
The Rancho Santa Margarita City Council adopted an updated Master Fee Schedule on May 10, 2017, which goes into effect on July 10, 2017. The revised Master Fee Schedule is the product of a comprehensive analysis of City fees and services. The resulting Master Fee Schedule shows an adjustment to many of the City’s fees for Building and Safety, Planning, and Engineering services. Some fees have been reduced, while others have bee increased.
California law allows Cities to adopt and implement fees for municipal services. Fees may not exceed the estimated reasonable cost of providing the service or facility for which the fee is charged. The City’s goal is to ensure that fees cover, but do not exceed, our costs to conduct business.
