The current forecast shows predicted rainfall amounts Friday and Saturday between 3 - 5” for the Orange County area with high winds at times gusting up to 50- 60mph. Peak rainfall amounts will occur from Friday at approximately 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. on Saturday. 


Public Information Resources

  • Residents and businesses are encouraged to sign up for AlertOC as part of their preparations for the storm event at AlertOC.org.
  • The National Weather Service Turn Around Don’t Drown® campaign website has many resources for public education related to flood safety and drowning prevention.
  • Call 2-1-1 for resources or visit 211oc.org - Refrain from entering the vicinity of flood control systems.
  • ReadyOC.org provides information on general disaster preparedness information and flood-specific guidance. 

The National Weather Service has issued several emergency products in anticipation of this event and may issue additional emergency information products as the storm moves through the area.  Residents are encouraged to visit the National Weather Service San Diego office website and monitor local news sources for critical weather updates.

The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) has sand and sandbags available at several locations for residents of unincorporated Orange County and OCFA contract cities. For more information, visit the OCFA sandbag  web page.
