Transition to Mission Viejo Animal Services from OC Animal Care effective January 1, 2017 at 12:01 a.m.
The City of Rancho Santa Margarita is proud to announce the official beginning of our partnership with the City of Mission Viejo. Mission Viejo Animal Services provides a pro-humane animal shelter, 24-hour response to emergency calls, pet adoption and fostering, low-cost vaccination clinics, animal licensing, volunteer opportunities, community outreach and events, and many other essential animal care services.

24-hour response to emergency calls
Protection of public health against contagious, infectious,
or communicable animal diseases
Rabies Control
Patrol of public streets and parks
Adoption of shelter animals
Vaccine and Microchip Clinics
Animal Licensing
Enforcement of local and state laws
Impoundment of stray animals
Quarantine of animals involved in bites to humans
Micro-chipping of shelter animals
Owner Relinquishment Program
Volunteer Opportunities (must be 18 yrs. of age)
Tree of Life (purchase a leaf to be placed on the “Tree of
Life” in memory of a pet or person)
Community Outreach Presentations (providing education on
humane animal care, wildlife concerns and shelter operations)
Annual Dog Walk (held in June by DAWG)
Tree of Holiday Memories (in December make a tree decoration
in honor or memory of a special pet)
