Protecting Our City
The uniqueness of Rancho Santa Margarita is due, in large part, to its many natural and open space resources including creeks, parks, vegetation and scenic vistas. The City has taken strong efforts to create policies to protect and maintain natural resources such as water, soils, wildlife, and minerals, and prevent wasteful resource exploitation and destruction. The Conservation/Open Space Element of the
City's General Plan specifically addresses the City's goals, policies and objectives to protect environmental resources and open space.
